Chiropractic Care

We provide advanced spinal correction utilizing chiropractic techniques and diagnostic tools such as Xray reading and Surface electromyography (SEMG). Never in the history of chiropractic have we been able to provide the level of help and expertise that now exists. These newer correction methods are even safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before. As a Doctor of Chiropractic,Dr. Scott Kinnon has years of training and experience in spinal adjustments.

Corrective Exercises

We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises designed just for them to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction by as much as 30-40%. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.

Custom Prescription Orthotics

At Lifestyle Health Centre we use the state of the art diagnostic system Footmaxx.   The Footmaxx system is a unique, easy to use dynamic assessment tool that tracks foot function and translates information into a gait and pressure analysis report and prescription for a custom orthotic.  If you experience foot, knee, hip or low back pain then you may be a candidate for custom orthotics.  Inquire with Dr. Scott Kinnon for a scan and comprehensive analysis.

Lifestyle advice

We often find it helpful to "coach" our patients on certain activities they should avoid or do differently to avoid aggravating their particular health challenge. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a fulfilling and happy lifestyle full of the activities they enjoy most. We recognize that each our patient is a whole person, and help them reach true health and wellness is a collaborate effort between our professionals and our patients.

acupuncture

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM)

Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine has been practiced for thousands of years and has a written history longer than 2000 years. It can be used to effectively treat many different disorders, from acute back pain to infertility. Acupuncture works by regulating circulation throughout the body to bring balance and health into our life. With the use of fine needles inserted in specific body areas acupuncture can have a profound effect on our health.

Spinal & Postural Screenings

Posture and spinal screenings can reveal important health information and unlock the door to improved health and well-being. We provide screenings at area malls, community events, health fairs and places of employment. Contact us today to arrange a screening at your event or workplace.

Myofacial Release Therapy

Our Doctors and the Centre combine myofacial release therapy with chiropractic adjustments, stretching and strengthening exercises to obtain maximum benefits and results.  Myofacial release therapy is the treatment of adhesions or restrictions in the muscles or tendons. The practitioner specifically applies constant pressure to a muscle or tendon while the patient actively lengthens the restricted muscle. This thereby releases the fibrotic adhesions and tension allowing the healing process to take place.  This often times can provide a little temporary discomfort but eases the force of the adjustments and helps the body heal more effectively.

registered massage therapy

Registered Massage Therapy

At Lifestyle Health Centre we have Registered Massage Therapy.  RMT is covered by extended health care companies and is usually partially or fully reimbursable.  Massage Therapy can provide benefit for muscle and joint pain, muscle tension, headaches as well as strains and sprains.  Deep tissue massage combined with other forms of therapy can speed the healing process of damaged tissues and joints.

  • An Apple a Day . . .

What is so good about an apple? Is it the color, ranging from ruby red to pale pink? Is it the crunch? The sweetness? Or is it, instead, a combination of all of these qualities, plus the natural goodness derived from the apple's secret ingredients — phytonutrients? If this were a multiple choice quiz, the answer would be "all of the above". Importantly, in addition to possessing numerous appealing physical qualities, apples contain an abundance of health-promoting biochemicals known as phytonutrients.1,2 These specific organic molecules are derived not only from apples but many other fresh fruits and vegetables, and help power the immune system, protect against cancer, maintain healthy eyes, and assist cells in clearing out metabolic waste products such as free radicals. ...
